Let's help the Jackaways return home!
We are going to have a volunteer day to help rebuild the Jackaway's home on Saturday, 3/15. There will be work for both those who have building skills and non-skilled labor as we install insulation and clear mud and debris from around their home. If you've been wanting to put your hands to work, we would love to have your help!
It was a huge day! Five families got to move back into their homes that were completely destroyed and rebuilt - and now they are stunning! @coreresponse has done an amazing job of bringing together a variety of partners and volunteers to restore 28 homes in this neighborhood, and @valleyhopeepc is so privileged to be able to support these efforts with building materials and volunteers. We love our neighbors - and we will be here for the long haul. The road ahead is long, but today was a huge moment worth celebrating!!
Thanks to everyone who participated in our adopt a family program for Christmas in the wake of Helene! The Zalvalza Family is one of 34 families in the Swannanoa Valley and beyond who participated in the VHC Adopt a Family program.
@riverlifefellowship brought a group to a home we are rebuilding for a dear family in our community. They knocked out walls and ceiling tiles that were damaged when the flood waters rose.
