Vision of Valley Hope

Ephesians 2:11-22 tells us about God bringing us near to himself, making us a part of his family. Through Jesus Christ, we “have access in one Spirit to the Father.” Our vision is living as family in the great love of God, extending the hospitality and hope of Jesus to everyone.

Our Mission

Together, cultivating communities that live out the life-changing hope of Jesus.

We use the image and idea of a table because Jesus welcomes us to His Table. He invites us, gathers us together, gives us a place to sit, sets the table for us, and asks us to invite others.

Roles of a Disciple

Our Roles as Individual Disciples in our Unique Community

We believe maturing disciples will grow in the following roles as we live out of the ways God has made us.

Joyful Apprentice

A person who delights in becoming like Jesus in each and every circumstance.

Gospel Storyteller
A person who knows and is known deeply by others, and bears the Good News of Jesus daily.

Q2. What is God saying to you and your community?

Faithful Servant
A person who responds to the voice of Jesus by willingly giving their life away, every day.

Intentional Friend
A person who welcomes every neighbor to experience the generous hospitality of Jesus.

What Exactly IS the Table?

Jesus's Table

He has invited us to share in every part of his life! At Communion, The Community Meal, Missional Community Groups, our own homes, and many more places, we recognize that Jesus has made this life possible.

Symbol of Community

Corporately:
The table represents coming together weekly to worship and feast at the Lord's Table in communion.

Personally:
The table represents anywhere you as a disciple of Jesus connect with the people near you.

At Valley Hope we use the table image to represent our path for growth as disciples of Jesus. Each side of the table represents a different aspect of growth.

Our DISCIPLESHIP PATHWAY leads you to GATHER around the table and SIT in weekly community. It also helps you to SET the table of discipleship, participating as "learner" and "trainer". All the while the momentum of this pathway is outward, moving you to INVITE others into the life-changing hope of Jesus.

Participate Purposefully Around Each Side of the Table

As you grow in your faith here, you may wonder "What should I do?", "Where am I going with this?", or "Why do we do that?" This pathway tool is meant to help you participate purposefully and grow as a disciple around each side of the table. Many church happenings will be marked to help you see what they have to do with following Jesus. Following Jesus can look different for various folks, but we believe this pathway represents where Jesus is leading us as a family, together, to fulfill our unique distinctives.

      Calling & Training

      As a disciple of Jesus, you are called to live on mission with him. A major component of this is the ongoing process of being a “learner” and a “trainer”. You have much to learn and much to give! These things help you learn to SET the table as you live out your calling and bless others.
